A Bit of Catch Up Before the Holiday!

It is a bit hard to know where to begin, so let me just list what is on my “to do” list today:

• Provide comments on the recommendations from the workgroup on the use of seclusion and restraint – this group, based on a legislative directive, has looked at the issue (including the definitions) broadly and has, I think come to some very practical and sound conclusions.  Next step – report to the General Assembly then, hopefully, some regulatory change.
• Organize conference details – finalize speakers, topics and timings to make sure everything is addressing issues which are top of mind today!
• Review information on BH Redesign and try to sort out the most critical concerns – if you have a concern (from what you know today) please share!
• Complete a preliminary review of the DD Waiver Services Manual Chapter VI which is currently open for public comment.
• Catch up on Memberships in anticipation of ending the membership drive for 25-26 this weekend.  Hint – if you have not renewed yet, this will likely be your final “NewsPost” – we’ll miss you!

Have a safe and restful Labor Day – we are gearing up for a very busy Fall and Winter, with lots of turmoil and surprises!   Hope to see you at the Conference!
