Commissioner Daryl Washington made his first presentation to a General Assembly Committee this past Thursday – we’ll have more about that below. 

But more recently, a member sent me a job posting for “Associate Deputy Commissioner for Quality and Provider Management” which they saw on “Linked In.”   As such a position currently does not exist, we did some research and found that the current Deputy for Clinical and Quality Management (vacant) will be converted and supervise both the Clinical Quality Management functions (under Katherine Means) and the “Provider Management” functions under Dev Nair and will report to Heather Norton, Deputy Commissioner for Community Services.   I am hopeful that this will lead to a new title and a new approach!

And speaking of Commissioner Washington – the presentation to the HHR Sub-committee of Senate Finance and Appropriations was, in part, introductory, but it was also the opportunity for the Department to tell their story about the proposed budget.   Nothing revolutionary, but there is some good data!  The slide deck can be found here.   For those of you in the DD world, note the statistics on slide 12.
