Another Quick Update

June 24, 2026

The House and Senate are scheduled to come back on Monday to deal with the Governor’s “technical” amendments – some of which are apparently requests from members; we do not expect anything in our world, but at this point . . .

What we do know is as follows:

  • Budget items, eg. the elimination of community stabilization, will take time.  DMAS can not just “stop” a service that is in the State Plan without CMS approval and a process.  So we wait for communication from DMAS on  that and changes to ABA and mobile crisis.
  • As we have said, we hope to have actual rate charts on Monday, but with the General Assembly back in Session, that might be delayed.  Not only do we need their calculation, but DMAS needs to update the payment amounts in MMIS.  You need to decide if you want to bill existing rates, bill projected rates and be prepared to adjust or just wait.
  • If the percent increase is in the budget – do the math and round up (they will never pay more than you are entitled, but if you bill below the allowable rate, they will pay below the allowable rate!
  • On issues with payment from the MCOs, we know they have and utilize a lot of flexibility.
