here. The Department plans to accept public comment (though not questions) and to hold Townhall style public meetings around the state. Information about both of those opportunities is available on the DBHDS website under “About DBHDS.”
As a participant on the Transformation Stakeholders Advisory Group, we had the opportunity to listen to the presentations earlier this week. While nothing jumps out as unexpected, our primary concern is how these recommendations will contribute to the work of the SJ47 (Mental Health in the 21st Century Commission chaired by Senator Deeds), the Transformation Plan for the HCBS Final Rule, the Waiver Redesign efforts, etc.
More critical will be the prioritization and the funding. Obviously, it is worrisome when even good ideas are made “mandates” if the funding is not there to supoort the effort!
