DD Services Provider Rate Study Update
February 28, 2025
The language below is from the Conference Report on the 2026 Budget, which became the amended language in the Budget sent to the Governor for signature. It rather significantly restricts the scope of the planned rate study. You may recall that DMAS expected to have a communication out today to update the steps and the schedule for the study; given the restrictions imposed by the General Assembly, it is possible that they will need additional time or consultation with the Governor’s office prior to releasing any further information.
However, with the limitations imposed by the General Assembly to align with the Court’s interest in Therapeutic Consult, Community Engagement, Community Coaching, Workplace Assistance, Private duty and Skilled nursing, Personal Assistance, Respite, Companion, In-Home Services and Independent Living, the scope of the study will be significantly less. We’ll keep you posted!
The Department of Medical Assistance Services is authorized to conduct a rate study of Developmental Disabilities Services required pursuant to the Permanent Injunction (Civil Action No. 3:12CV59-JAG). The department shall include stakeholders as part of the rate development process and consider their feedback in the process. The department shall submit a report with the recommended rates and associated fiscal impact to the Governor, the Director of the Department of Planning and Budget, and the Chairs of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance and Appropriations Committees by October 1, 2025.
