DOL/FLSA Proposed Rule on Overtime

The Department of Labor is proposing to raise the wage requirement on what will qualify for “exempt” status for most employees. The current “floor” was set pre-pandemic and the salary-basis requirement is $684 per week ($35,568 per year). The proposal is to raise the annual minimum level to $55,000 per year ($1,059 per week). The supplementary requirements of duties and responsibility would continue.
