First Look at the Conference Report!

March 07, 2024

This is quick, and by no means comprehensive:

  • The report includes the expected configuration for the quarterly roll-out of the 3,440 slots over the biennium and also includes 3% rate increase each year (July 1) for the following services:
    • Group Homes
    • Sponsored Residential
    • Supported Living
    • Independent Living
    • In-Home
    • Community Engagement
    • Community Coaching
    • Therapeutic Consultation
    • Private Duty and Skilled Nursing
    • Group Day
    • Group Supported Employment
    • Workplace Assistance
    • Community Guide
    • Benefits Planning
  • CD Services Facilitation and Peer Mentoring rates are addressed separately
  • Dental Rates increase by 3% which should make that service more accessible!
  • There is language which modifies the requirements of the Medicaid Managed Care Reprocurement which we will need time to analyze
  • CSB Workforce Development is allocated $7.5M each year – that should help some with the high-turnover rate among Support Coordinators, and
  • There is $3M each year for permanent supportive housing, $4.5M each year for STEP Virginia, $1.2M each year to expand children’s mental health, and $2,5M each year for additional CSU staff.
