Happy Valentine’s Day!

If you don’t spend time at the General Assembly during Session, you might be surprised to know that one of the traditions is that they enthusiastically decorate for Valentine’s Day.  This tradition goes back as far as I can remember; some years extending to lively competition between Floors!   But it’s a nice distraction from either mid-Session doldrums (long Session) or frantic push to finish (short Session)!

We are eight days from the end and much of what is left is just tidying up.   Except, of course, the Budget.   This year, as we have reported before, the increases that are important on the DD side of the house are already in the biennial budget   There will be little, if any, additions to the Medicaid budget this Session.


We do hope that the “pocket change” needed to support the Designated Support Staff amendment is approved.  That, along with the $8.7M for new Support Coordinators are only asks!   We will keep you posted!
