If Progress Is Measured in Inches . . .

There was notice this morning that the Governor had requested her Secretary of Finance, former House Appropriations Committee-Chair Mark Sickles, to update and republish the various financial forecasts to provide up-to-date information to the Members of the Budget Conference Committee.   The various forecast documents regularly produced are on a cycle which contemplates the budget process concluding in March!  

She announced last week that revenues were running above expected – not terribly uncommon as they tend to make conservative predictions, but the aim of the Governor’s new request is to provide the members of the Conference Committee with as much current information as possible.

None of the above, of course, gives any indication of what will finally be agreed to!
