Joint Commission on Health Care – Priorities for 2023
December 08, 2022
JCHC had their annual “Options” meeting yesterday to select, based on the studies that were completed in 2022, what options they will pursue during the upcoming Session. It is a process that has been in place for many years which works better than most! Of the studies from 2022, three may be of interest and I have included the presentation version below:
- Affordability of Assisted Living Facilities
- Policy options chosen were #1, #3, #5 & #6
- Numbers 1 & 5 will have (if funded) the most immediate impact
- Number 3, while a great idea, will require a good deal of foundational work
- Provider Data Sharing to Improve Quality of Care
- Policy options chosen were #5 & #6
- Number 6 may have some possibilities for VNPP members
- Local Health Department Structure & Financing
- VNPP did submit comments on this issue in support of some consistency across the system
- Policy option chosen was #3 with the proviso that VDH work on plans to implement the others going forward
