Outgoing Governor McDonnell has announced the
membership of the Task Force he appointed to oversee the needed changes on the system of care for persons who are mentally ill. The need for changes was highlighted by the tragic incident involving Senator Creigh Deeds and his son. Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe has pledged to continue the work of the Task Force and there are, to date, nearly a dozen bills introduced for this Session related to the issue.
