The Board of Directors of NAMI Virginia is pleased to announce that Rhonda Thissen has been selected to serve as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective September 18, 2017.
Rhonda comes to NAMI Virginia after 12 years in state government, primarily at the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, where she worked on policy and planning issues related to services for adults with serious mental health disorders and those experiencing homelessness.
We are excited about Rhonda’s new role with NAMI Virginia. She will drive NAMI Virginia to expand on its strategic goals of education and affiliate engagement, advocacy and awareness, and building a robust and influential organization to fulfill our mission of promoting recovery and improving the quality of life of Virginians with serious mental illness.
