DMAS has confirmed today that the new rates (see News Post of 1 July) are in effect today and are to be the minimum paid by all of the Plans. Some Plans may have to make the adjustment retroactively because they have not had adequate notice to update their systems, however, providers should bill at the higher rate for services delivered on or after 1 July. Failure to do so could result in a legitimate reason for the Plan to pay at the lower rate!
