UPDATE! DBHDS is confirming with DMAS the process to be used to request additional documentation from the provider
“If, upon later review, the clinical documentation does not support the authorization . . .”
The bulletin also suggests that providers utilize the IDOLS system to open and carefully review “approved” ISARs to confirm the hours/units and start date. PLEASE NOTE that IDOLs and VaMMIS are not connected; billing can only occur if the dates and hours/units are correctly entered in VaMMIS. The provider should verify the approved dates and hours/units by comparing it to the Pre-Authorization confirmation which comes directly from DMAS.
