VNPP was among the responders today to a presentation made by Dr. Jack Barber, Interim Commissioner, DBHDS on the Waiver Redesign. The members of the House Appropriations, HHR Sub-committee asked frequent and intelligent questions, but for the most part, the presentation was well received and comprehensive. Sharon Strobel, Wall Residences, also presented on the concerns of her agency about the rates planned for Sponsored Residential.
Our remarks, along with those by VACSB and the Arc of Virginia, were focused on our general support of the initiative in the Governor’s budget, the additional slots requested in member amendments and the need to focus our energy and attention on implementation in order to “go live” on July 1st.
The other interesting part of the DBHDS presentation was detailed information of the Trust Fund – those slides are found here. Additional information is available on the Member’s Page on Waiver Redesign.
