Sine Dei!

Shortly after 7:30p this evening both the House and the Senate adjourned sine dei (without a  day set to return) with House Bill 30 continued to a Special Session to be called by the Governor (on April 23rd).  

A quick look at some of the items we were concerned about:

• SB536 the medical malpractice bill that “blew up” just a few days ago, was converted to a bill requesting information on claims, premiums and other information relevant to the issue.  Nothing that would seem to directly impact us!
• The conference reports on minimum wage bill and the “leave bill” both passed; we will include those in a summary next week.
• Paid family and medical leave also passed with a significantly delayed enactment – it will required a careful review.
• It also appears that the chambers did not agree on a new version of the Autism Council.

We will put together a more detailed review of the employment related bills in the coming days.
