We are still waiting to find out how many of the slots which may now be available since the Public Health Emergency provisions which required slots to remain with individuals assigned have ended are truly vacant, but for those slots which were available on July 1st:

  • 76  of the 100 CL slots have been assigned, 16 slots cannot be assigned as no one on the specific CSB’s Priority 1 list needs residential (if they can not be assigned by 1 October, they will be offered to someone in the Region) Three CSBs have meeting in the next several weeks to finish allocation.
  • 320 of the 500 FIS slots have been assigned, 23 slots cannot be assigned at their designated CSB (if they can not be assigned by 1 October, they will be offered to someone in the Region).  Five CSBs still have slots to assign and are scheduled to meet in the next few weeks.

We will explore some of the nuances a bit more deeply, but this information, coupled with what we know about workforce issues and the struggles to maintain (much less expand) services will inform our policy discussion at the conference in the Fall!
