Some Good News for a Friday – Budget Update
June 12, 2026
This does not fit within the scenario described on the Member Call this morning – but it appears to be better than my best guess!
The House released a revised budget today:
- It is not a “conference report” which was expected by the 16th
- It is an entirely revised version of HB30 which they will vote on (and most certainly pass) on the 18th
- It appears that they have accepted the Senate’s version for
- A delay of Redesign until 1 July 2027
- An increase in rates (effective July 1, 2026) per the Guidehouse study for the DOJ selected services except companion
- A 2% increase in rates (effective July 1, 2026) for Group Day, Group Day – customized, Community Guide, Peer Mentoring, Supported Employment Individual and Group, Group Home – 4 or fewer, five or more & customized, Sponsored, Supported Living, Shared Living, & Benefits Planning.
- Variable rate increases (effective July 1, 2026) for Skilled Nursing – RN & LPN, Private Duty – RN & LPN
- An 8.1% increase (effective January* 1, 2028) for both Agency and Consumer-directed Personal Care, Respite and Companion
- The good news is that it also still allows a provisional diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder for children age 5 or younger
The significance is, as we explained again this morning — the Senate had more money to spend and that was going to allow for some rate increases; now the Senate language is included in the House budget and we assume (hope) that when the new Senate version is released – the language will still be there!
And language in both does not have to go to Conference! This is definitely a step in the right direction.
I’ll do a better analysis and get something more detailed out over the weekend!
