Summer Travels!

The “summer” travels for 2021 have finally been completed!  Great trip to Northern Virginia with visits to five very interesting and unique providers – love having time to chat, to visit with staff and the individuals they support, and see the places they live and work. 


The two things that stand out are the intuitive respect that I saw in virtually every location for both the individuals and the staff who do the hard work every day and the overwhelming burden on the administrative/management staff to continue to provide the supervision, guidance, and support needed while managing the unending onslaught of state imposed regulation and oversight from both DBHDS and DMAS.    I have returned with a long list of follow-ups and thoughts for how we might mitigate some of the burden!
