Thanks to ANCOR for sending the following
update on the choices that were announced today. They signal a significant shift in approach and a challenge to women’s health issues. The focus is likely to be more flexibility for the states, perhaps in the form of per capita cap proposals and increased use of Health Savings Accounts.
The issue of greatest concern to us – funding for DD and BH services – will be caught up in the larger health care reform efforts. We will look to see if the focus of the Department of Justice changes dramatically before we know what to expect. At this point, of course, the regulatory process grinds slowly!
