Update on Budget Hearings

We posted initial information about the public hearings about the Governor’s proposed budget – see information here.  We have some additional information to share:

Registering to Speak at the Hearings

• Registration Period: The public may sign up to speak for one of the virtual public hearings on Tuesday January 4, 2022, beginning at 7:00 AM through 4:00 PM.
• Please check the House Appropriations or Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee
  websites for the latest information on registration closer to the registration date.

• You may only register for one of the hearings.
• After you register online, you will receive an email with a link for you to access the Zoom
  meeting beginning at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
• Please check the House Appropriations or Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee websites prior to the hearing start time to see the order of the public speakers and an estimated time range for when you will likely be called to speak.
• Members of the General Assembly will participate in the hearing for the Region they
  represent so members of the public may choose the appropriate hearing for where they
  live. If the hearing where you live is full, you may sign up for a different location
• If you cannot attend a virtual public hearing or do not have access to a computer or the
  Internet, your comments are welcome, by no later than January 5, 2022 by entering this link in your browser: https://hodspeak.house.virginia.gov/upcoming_meetings
