There are RAC (Recovery Audit Contractor) audits underway; these differ from some others because they only review billing documentation. One of the possible audit points is based on the two digit location code which is part of every claim.
Since the pre-payment edits bulit into the VaMMIS system do not reject claims with the wrong location code, nor do the printouts from the DME billing system show the location code which was entered, providers need to be vigilant to ensure that they are entering the correct code.
