Update on Required Training for QMHP’s and BHT’s

The proposed training requirements, prompted by SB403 in 2024 which, among other things, created the Behavioral Health Technician option are linked below.  We have some concerns, specifically about the added requirements for 60 or 80 hours of targeted training for someone who has completed a bachelor’s degree which may have included coursework which included the same content.   We have expressed those concerns and the issue will be discussed at the Board of Counseling Meeting this Friday.   Note the new regulations do go into effect on 7 May!
