Update to EPSDT/Waiver Services Issue

August 05, 2017

We have additional information since the post of 28 July which suggests that the impact on children currently receiving services through the CCC+ Waiver (formerly the ECDC and Tech Waivers) may be less than was originally thought.  The issue is more fully described in the previous post; the original concern was that if the only services being received were those now provided under EPSDT, the individual could lose their Waiver “slot” because they were not receiving Waiver services.  This is still true for those on any of the three DD Waivers; routine use of Respite or any other service can support the continuation of Waiver enrollment. Those in the CCC+ Waiver maybe protected as the services provided are still “waiver” services; the service cost is apparently assigned to EPSDT.
