Updates from DC

May 10, 2016

First, thanks to Arthur Ginsberg who, on very short notice, was able to provide testimony to the National Council on Disability at their Quarterly Meeting last Friday.  A focus of his testimony was the pressure being put on providers by multiple and increasing federal mandates such as the proposed changes in the Overtime Exemption rule. The latest on the Overtime Exemption rule is that the salary requirement to allow exemption (currently approximately $23,500) may be in the $47,000 range rather than more the $50,000 which was originally proposed.  If true, the final rule will still be very expensive to implement.  We expect the rule to be published next week! Lastly, the Department of Labor has issued a third letter to 14-c Certificate holders.  All three letters are attached here.
