We have confirmed information received earlier today that the requirement for an independent assessment by a CSB as a critical element of establishing the eligibility of a child for Medicaid funded services will end on December 1st.
This will become an item for discussion during the upcoming Session as this decision makes a significant change to the budgets of many of the Community Services Boards mid-year. It does, however, remove a barrier to access to services and what we have long believed was an unneccesary hurdle that families and providers have had to clear in order to get services.
