Ten of our members spent the morning at the General Assembly, meeting with 26 Senators, Delegates or their Legislative Aides. In addition to supporting the waiver redesign proposal in the Governor’s budget, we reminded the Members that not all of the rates proposed are exactly where they should be and that, for example, the proposed Department of Labor expansion in the number of staff who might be eligible for overtime will have a large impact on most providers. We handed out cards with specific data to show the impact.
The most significant message was showing the diversity and number/size of VNPP and it’s member organizations. Thanks to everyone who took the time and made the trip to Richmond!
